Ja'Nelle DeVore, Acting Deputy CIO of Cybersecurity and IT Risk Management

Profile

Ja'Nelle is the Director of National Security Solutions and Services (NS3), responsible for leading and managing the department's national security information technology (IT) program. During the period of January through October 2018 she was detailed as the Deputy CIO and CISO for the Department of Commerce, responsible for providing executive leadership for the Department's Cybersecurity Program.

Prior to joining DOC, Ja'Nelle was Director of the Joint Cybersecurity Coordination Center (JC3) Client Services for the Department of Energy. In this role she was accountable managing JC3 related information regarding cyber incidents, risks and a full range of IT activities related to the protection of all DOE cybersecurity assets and information. Also responsible for managing the over $25-million-dollar portfolio she provided direction to DOE's National Laboratories as it related to cyber intelligence and assuring information systems security integration into classified and unclassified environments.

Ja'Nelle has over 28 years of professional experience in continuity programs and in various cybersecurity roles to include IT and cyber operations and experience in the intelligence community. She has proudly served in the United States Air Force supporting various missions world-wide, to include work at the White House directly supporting the Clinton and Bush Administration's. She is a recognized cybersecurity leader with a track record of success in complex operational IT environments and has an in-depth knowledge of FISMA, risk management and federal cyber laws and regulations.

Ja'Nelle holds a bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems (MIS), is a Certified Information System Security Professional (CISSP) and a professional artists.
