In November 2015, Ms. Brown was named the Director for the Office of Platform Services (OPS). Ms. Brown joined us with over 30 years of experience in all aspects of Information Technology. Her initial 21 years of experience comes from the US Army, where she had nine duty assignments, five stateside and four abroad, and ultimately retired as a Chief of Maintenance.
During her time in the Army, she managed the implementation of large IT infrastructure programs, provided O&S support of classified and unclassified data centers, was a NATO Quality Assurance Inspector, and installed classified and unclassified networks.
Retiring in 2006, from the Pentagon gave her the opportunity to become a Program Manager and become part of the Pentagon Renovation & Construction Program Office team. In that role, she provided program support for both the Pentagon’s COOP and Survivability Programs. Her time at the Pentagon culminated with her becoming the Project Engineer and COR for the BRAC #133 IT/AV Program, also known as the Mark Center BRAC. In that role, she managed and administered the IT and AV/VTC implementation contract from acquisition planning through transition and closeout.
Her position prior to coming to DOC was at the Department of Labor as the Branch Chief for the Customer Support and Requirements Management Branch. At DOL she provided O&S support for Wage and Hour Division (WHD) of the Department of Labor.
Ms. Brown has a MS Degree in Forensic Science, a BS in Managing Information Systems, PMP from PMI, FAC P/PM III and FAC COR III certifications.
