Mission
The Office of Policy and Governance shall coordinate the development and review of policies and procedures for management and use of IT resources, including all computing, telecommunications, and associated resources; administer the Department's multi-year strategic information resources planning process, including developing and administering the Department's Strategic IT Plan; lead the development and implementation of the Department's Enterprise IT Architecture, including coordination of the development of operating unit IT architectures that become part of that architecture; coordinate review ofIT initiatives and other proposals, including support to the CITRB in conducting such review; support the Departmental Office of Budget in its evaluation of IT initiatives, working with the operating units to obtain required information and analyzing it as appropriate; coordinate control and evaluation review of ongoing IT projects, including support to the CITRB in conducting such review; oversee and coordinate Paperwork Reduction Act, Federal Data Quality Act, § 508 of the Rehabilitation Act, and Government Paperwork Elimination Act activities for the Department, and prepare Commerce's Information Collection Budget; and coordinate OCIO involvement in IT workforce issues, working closely with the Departmental Office of Human Resources Management on IT recruitment and training.
